BROKEN by Dana Tatar a.k.a. Pop Rocks

Dana broke the mirror from a case of old eyeshadow. Her journaling is from the song "Broken" and reads: "I'm broken when I'm open and I don't feel like I'm strong enough cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome and I don't feel right when you're gone away."

In Amy's words: This LO is based off of Lindsey Haun's song 'Broken'. The lyrics fit with what and how my daughter has been feeling lately. She is at that age and experiencing growing pains. She's emotional and confused. I used the lyric: "When you're broken in a million little pieces, and you're trying but you can't hold on. Every tear falls down for a reason. Don't stop believing in yourself when you're broken."
To represent the broken aspect of the challenge I broke glass and placed it over her picture. To do this I used clear contact paper and placed the pieces onto that as to secure them over the picture. I used broken cardboard, and ripped tissue paper. I also broke up the title.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? by Annika Prestwich a.k.a. Pink Coffee Bean

In Annika's words: I loves this challenge. I get to play with things and break them, all a part of the Grand Plan! *love it*
I was inspired by the colours in the picture, and the ribbon-y flower in the girl's hair. I took some embellishments from Pink Paislee and cut them up and made a new flower with them, as well as some green bits resembling leaves.

In Chris' words: The photo is of our dining room after we were hit dead on by Hurricane Frances in Sept 2004 - we were hit again 3 weeks later dead on by Hurricane Jeanne and had even more damage. Our house was gutted and totally redone while we lived for 6 months in a small trailer parked by our house. We actually do laugh about it now!

In Mindy's words: I've been saving this circular piece of wood veneer for just the right layout. I placed it under my title to emulate a lens and then used the piece I split off the right on the opposite side of the layout.

Do YOU wanna be a Lollipop Girl?

After being out of commission for the past few months or so I felt as though NOW was the time to start things back up again. I'm free of house guests, my husband is settled back in and adjusting well from his recent deployment, the kiddos are back in school, our new home build is underway and everything else is pretty much back to normal. So, I'm ready to start this shizznit if you are.

But first, we will need some NEW talent to showcase here on the Design Team because a few of my Lollipop Girls (including myself) are going to take a break. With that being said, I'd like to thank Dana Tatar a.k.a. Pop Rocks, Chris Aiton a.k.a. Lemon Zinger and Mindy Miller a.k.a. Lemon Drop for your time with us here at C.S.D. All 3 of you are SO talented and I know you will continue to do great things. Keep up the good work and don't be strangers.

So, who's ready and willing to be my next best catch? I know many of you have been waiting for this opportunity so here it is once again. I'm in a little bit of a hurry so this will be a rather short & simple DT Call. I'll accept your applications into the month of October and the first 4 that call out to the current Lollipop Girls will be who we end up picking. All 4 girls will be contacted via email and informed about their position at the same time. This means, even if you were to apply today....you will not be notified if you've made it or not until the Lollipop Girls have finished picking the next 3. *The 6 Lollipop Girls who are staying on the DT will be picking the 4 NEW girls.

I encourage all who are interested in applying to do so, you never know....the girls just may think you have what it takes and will want to work with you. This will be a short run so even if you have never been on a DT before this will be a perfect position to take. I need these spots filled for our November and December challenges. We host 4 challenges a month but each DT Member has a choice of 2 or more challenges per month that they would like to tackle. However, even though you do not pick certain challenges to do yourself you will still need to announce all 4 of them on your blogs and encourage your readers to check them out. And, if we are being sponsored you will also need to mention our sponsors on your blog as well. All challenges will be given to you at the start of your term to make things a whole lot easier on you.

As a DT member:

-You will have your headshot and fun facts about you on the C.S.D. blog along with a link leading back to your own blog for more exposure.
